EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK 22- “BETTER CONNECTIONS”
JOIN! ON EUROPEAN CAR-FREE DAY JOIN US AT THE REPUBLIC SQUARE AND COME AND TAKE YOUR PLACE IN THE CITY - PARKING DAY INITIATIVE – SEPTEMBER 22
The European Mobility Week takes place annually from 16 to 22 September, moment when citizens across Europe have the opportunity to enjoy moments more focused on sustainable mobility.
In this context, the "European Day without Cars" is marked on September 22, closing the artery between Largo Bernardo Lopes and Largo Gago Coutinho (entrance to Praça da República), from 15:00 to 23:00, promoting at that time the Parking Day initiative.
This initiative starts at 7pm with a Hip Pop performance promoted by Urban Xpression; at the same time there will be a free fitness class promoted by the MOOV Gym; at 20:00 the walk through the city begins (about 7 km) – on-site registration from 19:30. The GNR will be present throughout the entire time of the initiative with its Road Prevention Track, with a view to raising awareness among young people about the promotion of road safety and the safeguarding of human lives; even extended hours for local businesses; health screenings promoted by Hospital de Loulé; projection of 360º Films on Climate Change; exhibitors dedicated to this subject and street entertainment.
The theme “better connections” encourages us to reflect on the advantages of using public transport, remembering that the Loulé City Council approved the exemption of payment for Urban Transport in the municipality.
