Water stress and water scarcity, situations that are currently manifesting themselves in the municipal territory and in our region, are on the political and social agenda, constituting a threat to humanity, and which tend to worsen as the impact of changes climatic conditions and the occurrence of extreme events increase.
Aware of the importance and seriousness of this problem, the Municipality of Loulé joined the movement “H2Off - TIME TO CLOSE THE TAP!” (https://www.h2off-apda.com/), an initiative promoted by APDA (Portuguese Association of Water Distribution and Drainage), within the scope of World Water Day, and which aims to stimulate reflection on the use that is made of water, raising awareness so that the consumption of this resource is more efficient and balanced.
The challenge is simple: on March 22, between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm, we will all turn off the tap for an hour, avoiding any and all water consumption, in a deliberate and conscious gesture!
Participate! Together we can make a difference and mark the Water Hour on the planetary clock!
